Lucas War Hero
Live from 5 Points

The sound quality of this recording notwithsatnding -
look, we get it, its tough to get a good live recording -
this set of tunes by Lucas War Hero, recorded live at
the Five Points Pub, is a good snapshot of what
makes this country-rock outfit so attractive to Capital
City concert-goers.  The three-headed songwriting
hydra of Adam Whitehead, Matt Goudelock and T.J.
Roland is a formidable one, and the harmonies they
generate are sweetly reminiscent of Crosby, Stills and
Nash.  Like Skynryd, The Allmans and Hank III before
them, Lucas War Hero makes country music sound
the way it should - honest to a fault, yet flawlessly
composed.

Lonely Planet ~ Adam Karlin
Here's what a South Carolina rally for Republican
presidential candidate Mike Huckabee was like. The
opening act was rock stars Lucas War Hero - yeah, I'd
never heard of them either, but isn't that a great band
name? Makes you want to scream LUCAS WAR
HERO! and throw a mini-fridge out of a hotel window -
on stage with Ric freaking Flair, 16-time professional
wrestling world champion. Chuck Norris (uh, yeah,
Chuck Norris) was supposed to be there, but he got
held up. Anyways, the crowd heart-ed Huckabee and
the whole show, and I'm not ashamed to admit I did
too.

Republican presidential hopeful, former Arkansas

Political rally, Huckabee style
Rare is the Huckabee campaign event where the
Arkansan doesn't jam on his bass guitar with a local
band.
Friday, he played "Sweet Home Alabama" with
Lexington, S.C., band Lucas War Hero at a late-night
rally on the University of South Carolina campus in
Columbia.
The rally/rock concert drew about 1,000 students. A
similar event at rival Clemson University attracted a
crowd of about 3,000 people on Thursday.
Friday's event was short on speeches and long on
lyrics. The set-up even incorporated strobe lights and
a fog machine.
And like at most every Southern rock concert, a few
spectators shouted for the band to cover the Lynyrd
Skynyrd hit "Free Bird."
